Ridiculous Traffic Light

The most ridiculous traffic light I have ever seen is located at the corner of Christian Avenue and Cedar Street in Stony Brook. If the light is red when you are approaching it, it will change to green the instant you drive over the white line underneath it. You can drive through it at 50 mph and it will still change, no need to slow down. HOWEVER, if you are driving on Christian Avenue and there is a car coming toward the light on Cedar Street, there is a possibility that the light will not change when you hit the white line on Christian. In this case, it will turn red when you reach it, and it STAYS red for like an hour. You must then back up and drive over the white line again, or else wait for someone else to come and reach the sensor. This really is the most ridiculous light- it an accident waiting to happen! A stop sign would have been a wiser choice for this intersection, or else a traffic light that functions normally. Beware!
