Have you tried China Tea House in Centereach for sushi? Friends say it is great (personally I don't eat the stuff, except California Roll). For other Chinese dishes (the best of which is "Happy Family") you can get two meals out of one order. And they will happily substitute brown rice for the standard white.
I might suggest you talk about French restaurants in the area, too. This is LI's best area for French restaurants with the biggest selection, too. Kitchen a Bistro is a great bargain for lunch (bring your own wine) and get there early. Mirabelle is LI's premier French restaurant but has a great bargain $20.05 lunch (menu lunch) which is a full meal with a glass of wine. This is where you impress a date and not break the bank. Dinner menu equivalent is close to $40 a person and is not listed some nights. Both restaurants are in St. James on 25A.
P.S. For Chinese try the new Ancient Ginger in St. James which is lighter and healthier than Eastern Pavillion.
Very fun - and useful - idea for a blog! One request: could you please consider looking into the dire bread situation around here? How many places (besides WBN and TJs) can a person get a fresh, decent loaf easily and for under three bucks...?
I definitely don't have all the answers, but I know that as long as people keep sharing ideas like this, the truth will eventually reveal itself and maybe it can make a difference somewhere.
I think this blog rocks! Keep up the good work, I've bookmarked it and will definitely swing by again soon.
Feel free to pay a visit to my Canada immigration site. It might not be your "cup of tea", but it covers Canada immigration related topics.

You know, a rising number of people are suffering from Fibromyalgia these days. And fibromyalgia sufferers are really interested in fibromyalgia flares related information. My site about fibromyalgia flares has lots of interesting fibromyalgia treatment material. Feel free to check it out.
About my bread request: hmmm. I'm a sucker for whole wheat and other mild brown loaves, but I'd also love some nice baguettes come to think of it. I just want to be able to buy fresh-baked but not super-expensive stuff on a regular basis.
By the way, your blog makes the wierdest plant I've ever seen on "www.organichtml.com" -- maybe it's the crazy water out here...?
WOW , This is interesting, I've been looking around to get some ideas for our blog. Haven't started yet. I'm hoping you can give some advise. Here's my topic and website. Please take a look.
I am looking around many blogs to see how and what to write about. I like what you have here and was wondering if you can help me out. I know that this is not on the subject you are talking about, but any help would be appreciated.

I really like your blog. You articulate positives and negatives well and have an overall fun attitude. You're filling a need for me: I definitely want to learn more about local groceries and restaurants, especially those that sell healthier-style food (which you cover!).
Maybe you could comment on East Setauket Quality Meats, near Mario's. I recently stopped in there for the first time after a couple of people (including Mary Ann at Ann-Marie's) recommended it to me. I spoke with a big white-haired butcher, Vinny, for about 25 minutes, asking him questions about different cuts and grades of meat, pork vs. turkey vs. beef for different dishes, etc. He was very helpful and he seemed to really care about his work.
I am planning to go there again in the future, and use Vinny or other butchers as sounding boards on dishes I plan to cook (which I also do at Ann-Marie's).
If you guys want to branch out, maybe you could cover some local opportunities to see live music, theater, or dance. That's something I want to learn about.
